Dear PHPA Members and members of the Helicopter Industry,
H.R. 2997, the 21st Century AIRR Act, better known as ATC Reform threatens
to change General Aviation’s access to the airways, raise the cost of every flight
by charging fees per flight to use our airspace and take ATC out of FAA control,
to the detriment of safety.
The position of the Professional Helicopter Pilots Association is to oppose
H.R. 2997, the 21st Century AIRR Act and asks that all pilots join PHPA in the
fight against this legislation that could result in the loss of our freedom to use
the National Airspace System without restrictions and fees. We join 47 aviation
industry groups that include:
HAI – Helicopter Association International, NATCA – National Air Traffic
Controllers Association, NBAA – National Business Aviation Association, AOPA –
Airplane Owners and Pilots Association, EAA – Experimental Aircraft Association,
CAF – Commemorative Air Force, and GAMA – General Aviation Manufacturers
Association, just to name a few, in opposition of this Bill.
But we cannot fight this alone. We need each and every PHPA Member,
pilot and anyone else with a stake in this issue, to contact their Congressional
representatives and voice their objections to H.R. 2997 as soon as you can.
You can also call (855) 383-7330, AOPA’s ATC Privatization line that will,
after a short message, use your Zip Code to connect you to the office of your
