Professional Helicopter Pilots Association was established more than 25 years ago to provide a forum for pilots to share experiences and to create a safer environment for those flying in the skies of California.
Through the years, the PHPA has evolved further, and while safety is still our main concern, we've branched out to become an educational and informational focal point for the surrounding communities.
In addition to being a pilot networking forum, PHPA is the principal contact group for many government agencies and private groups that seek out information and opinions on helicopter operations.
PHPA has continued to fulfill its educational role for pilots and the community by co-sponsoring Helicopter Awareness Day each year. This is an all helicopter air show held at different airports and open to the public to share access to and information about helicopters.
PHPA schedules general membership meetings throughout the year featuring interesting speakers. An annual Safety Seminar is held in April of each year emphasizing media relations and public safety. Members also receive the "Main Rotor", PHPA's newsletter.
